Home Remedies For Toothache That You Can Use Now

If you have a toothache and can’t get to the dentist right away, you don’t have to suffer in silence. You can use home remedies for toothaches that will allow you to get a handle on the pain. Many things contribute to toothache pain, and you may need to have professional help to prevent the problem from recurring. In addition to cavities, periodontitis, sinus pressure, enamel erosion and bruxism are all potential reasons for your tooth to hurt.

Coconut fruint and oil. spa, alternative medicineOne of the easy ways to reduce your toothache that is pretty modern involves a piece of brown paper grocery bag. Soak a two-inch square in vinegar. Coat one side with freshly ground black pepper and press against the outside of your mouth where the tooth hurts. The heat will increase the circulation and reduce the pain you experience.

Of course, you might not have a paper bag around nor want a topical solution. In that case, you can use the fragrant clove to get rid of your toothache pain. If you have clove essential oil, add a drop or two to a cotton swab. Place the swab on the ache. Your mouth will water and it may sting at first. However, the clove contains eugenol, which is a natural numbing agent. Within a minute or so, you should begin to feel relief. Take care not to get the oil on other parts of your mouth as it can burn.

Alternatively, you can place a whole clove in your mouth and allow the oils to seep out and provide pain relief. Crush with a mortar and pestle first if you want to expedite the release. If you don’t have the oil or whole cloves, you can use powdered clove.

Peppermint tea is another option that is delicious and easy to make. You can either swish and spit or drink the tea. Either way, it will help to kill germs and pain while reducing swelling.

You might have heard about oil pulling before now. If not, this is a great remedy to add to your list. By swishing a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for fifteen to twenty minutes and then spitting out, you can greatly reduce the bacteria in your mouth.

In turn, you will have less pain. When used with one of the other home remedies for toothache, it can be quite effective. You see, the surface of the bacteria sticks to the oil, so as you swish it, the bacteria become trapped and then expelled. This is why this remedy can be more effective than water alone.

That being said, you can swish room temperature salt water in your mouth to help loosen debris and bacteria. Add a drop of clove or tea tree oil for added effect. Follow with the coconut oil rinse if desired or one of the other treatments.

Tooth pain should be taken seriously. Start treating yours now with these natural remedies and then make sure you address the root cause of your problem.
